Sunset Series

My Sunset photo essay was taken at various locations in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Florida. This series is about capturing warm beautiful sunsets, which add life to the photographs. The light and the colors from the sunsets also give a sense of warmth even though they were taken in colder New England months.

            These photos were shot digitally, using neutral density filters to help expose everything correctly. I tried other techniques, and I believe the neutral density filters are what really enhanced these photographs. The colors were enhanced in the sky, yet I did not lose the textures in the foreground of the photographs.

            I enjoy taking nature photographs because I like capturing that moment in time, while admiring beauty of the surrounding nature. It gives me a sense of peace and relaxation, and hopefully the viewers feel the same way when looking at my work, I have done my job as an artist by bringing warmth, a sense of peace, and beauty into their lives.
